Everything you need to know about buying beats, selling beats, licensing, pricing, payouts, Beat Battles, collaborations and music services on BeatBoard.

What is BeatBoard?

▾

BeatBoard is an all-in-one platform for buying and selling beats online. Producers upload beats, AI auto-tags genre, BPM and key, and artists buy or lease beats with instant download. BeatBoard also runs Beat Battles, collaboration matching, and music services in one place.

How do I buy beats online?

▾

Browse beats by genre, mood, BPM or key, preview any beat, then choose a Lease, Standard or Exclusive license. Pay securely with a card via Stripe and download your untagged files instantly — no waiting.

How do I sell beats on BeatBoard?

▾

Create a producer account, activate the $10/month seller subscription, and upload your beats with cover art and audio. BeatBoard auto-detects genre, BPM and key, handles checkout, licensing and file delivery, and you keep 100% of every sale.

What's the best platform to buy beats?

▾

BeatBoard combines a large licensable beat catalog with commission-free selling, Beat Battles, collaborations and music services in one platform. Transparent lease and exclusive pricing, instant download, and secure Stripe checkout make it a strong choice for artists.

What's the difference between leasing and buying an exclusive beat?

▾

A lease license grants limited usage rights (streams, distributions) for a lower price while the beat stays for sale. An exclusive license transfers full ownership — the beat is removed from the marketplace and is yours alone to use.

How much do beats cost?

▾

Lease licenses typically start around $9.99, Standard licenses around $29.99, and Exclusive licenses from $199.99. Each producer sets their own prices, so you will find beats across a wide range.

What are type beats?

▾

Type beats are instrumentals made in the style of a specific artist or producer (for example "Drake type beat" or "Travis Scott type beat"). They help artists find beats that match a vibe and help producers get discovered through search.

Can I get free beats on BeatBoard?

▾

Some musicians enable free MP3 downloads on their tracks. Browsing and streaming are always free. To license a beat for release you purchase a Lease, Standard or Exclusive license.

What genres of beats are available?

▾

Trap, hip hop, drill, boom bap, R&B, lo-fi, pop, afrobeats, amapiano, house, techno, reggaeton, phonk, and many more — from mainstream to niche, with new beats added daily.

How does beat licensing work?

▾

Each beat has three license tiers: Lease (MP3 + WAV, limited distribution), Standard (WAV, broader usage) and Exclusive (WAV + Stems, full ownership). Producers can also upload a custom license. Payment is processed securely via Stripe.

What files do I get when I buy a beat?

▾

Lease gives you untagged MP3 and WAV. Standard gives you untagged WAV. Exclusive gives you untagged WAV plus the individual stems in a ZIP. Files are available for instant download right after purchase.

Can I use a leased beat for Spotify or Apple Music?

▾

A lease license includes limited distribution and streaming allowances defined by the producer. For unlimited commercial release you should buy a Standard or Exclusive license. Always check the license terms before releasing.

How do I get paid when I sell beats?

▾

Sales and prize money accumulate in your in-app wallet. You request a withdrawal to your bank account (IBAN) or PayPal, and the BeatBoard team processes the payout. With the seller subscription you keep 100% of every sale.

What is a Beat Battle on BeatBoard?

▾

A Beat Battle is a genre-specific competition where producers submit a beat for a small entry fee and the community votes. The top entries win prize money (for example $1,000 for first place). It is a way to get discovered and earn.

How do collaborations work on BeatBoard?

▾

Producers post collaborations from stems, vocals, lyrics or melodies, either open to everyone or by application. Others apply or join directly, work on the project, and the finished track can be uploaded and credited to everyone.

What music services can I book on BeatBoard?

▾

You can book mixing, mastering, custom beats, production, vocal mixing, arrangement, songwriting, recording, sound design and session musicians — all offered directly by producers on the platform.

Is BeatBoard better than BeatStars or Airbit?

▾

BeatBoard combines selling with Beat Battles, collaboration matching and music services in one ecosystem, and offers commission-free selling with the $10/month subscription. BeatStars and Airbit are storefronts; BeatBoard is a full creator platform.

Can I sell exclusive beats on BeatBoard?

▾

Yes. You set an exclusive price for each beat. When a buyer purchases the exclusive license, the beat is delivered with stems and you receive the full exclusive amount. You keep 100% with the seller subscription.

How do I find trap beats on BeatBoard?

▾

Open the Trap genre page at /beats/genre/trap to browse trap beats for sale, or use the genre, BPM and mood filters on Discover. Each beat has a preview, BPM, key and license pricing.

What's the difference between BeatBoard and other beat marketplaces?

▾

Most marketplaces are beat storefronts. BeatBoard adds Beat Battles, collaboration matching, AI auto-tagging, music services and a creator wallet in one place — and lets producers sell commission-free with a flat subscription.

Do I keep the rights to my beats?

▾

Yes. You always keep authorship and control the license. A buyer only receives usage rights under the chosen license; only an Exclusive license transfers exclusive usage rights and removes the beat from sale.

How does payment work on BeatBoard?

▾

All purchases are processed securely through Stripe. You can pay by credit or debit card. Producers receive their earnings in their wallet and withdraw to bank or PayPal. No payment details are stored on BeatBoard.

Can I buy beats with PayPal or credit card?

▾

You can buy beats with any credit or debit card through Stripe checkout. PayPal is available as a payout method for producers withdrawing their earnings to their PayPal account.

How long does beat delivery take?

▾

Delivery is instant. The moment your payment is confirmed you can download your licensed files immediately from your library or the beat page.

What is a beat lease agreement?

▾

A beat lease agreement is the license that defines how you may use a leased beat — number of streams, copies, distribution channels and term. BeatBoard provides a standard lease license, and producers can upload their own custom agreement.
