Terms and Conditions

1. Scope

These terms govern the use of the BEAT BOARD platform for producers, musicians and buyers. By registering or using the platform you accept these terms.

2. Use of the platform

BEAT BOARD provides an online platform where producers licence beats, musicians publish tracks and beat battles and services can be offered. Registration is required for uploading, buying and selling.

Users under 18 need parental consent
Each user is responsible for their uploaded content
Abuse (spam, copyright infringement, fraud) leads to exclusion

3. Producer account and subscription

Selling beats requires an active seller subscription ($10/month). BEAT BOARD charges no sales commission. The subscription renews monthly unless cancelled.

4. Uploading beats and tracks

Producers upload a tagged preview, untagged MP3/WAV and optionally stems. Musicians upload tracks for streaming. The user guarantees they hold all rights and do not infringe third-party rights. Automatic metadata detection only supports classification; responsibility remains with the uploader.

5. Beat licences

Beats are offered in three licence tiers:

Lease — MP3 + WAV, one project
Standard — WAV, multiple projects
Exclusive — WAV + stems, full transfer of usage rights (if stems provided)

6. Checkout and prices

The purchase contract is concluded between buyer and seller. BEAT BOARD only mediates. Payment is processed by the integrated payment provider. Prices may exclude applicable taxes.

7. Download and availability

After purchase the buyer gets access to the licence-appropriate files. Permanent availability cannot be guaranteed; the buyer should secure files after download.

8. Custom licences

Producers can provide a custom licence file that replaces the standard licence. In that case the BEAT BOARD standard licence does not apply.

9. Beat battles

Beat battles are competitions with an entry fee. Submissions must match the specified genre. Voting is community-based; multiple votes are excluded. Prizes go to the top entries (1st–3rd) as announced.

10. Services

Producers can offer services (mixing, mastering, custom beats etc.). Fulfilment happens directly between buyer and seller via the platform order system. Delivery times and revisions follow the respective offer.

11. Promotion

Users can book paid campaigns to place beats on the homepage or on Discover. Placements run only for the booked period.

12. User obligations

Users must provide truthful information, upload no illegal content and not infringe third-party rights. Infringements allow BEAT BOARD to remove content and suspend accounts.

13. Liability

BEAT BOARD is liable only for intent and gross negligence. BEAT BOARD is not a party to contracts between users and gives no warranty for user content.

14. Account termination

Users can delete their account at any time. BEAT BOARD may suspend accounts for good cause (e.g. repeated violations).

15. Final provisions

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Invalidity of individual provisions does not affect the rest. Place of jurisdiction is Herford where permissible.
